I examine a number of ways to define digital ecosystems in a research based presentation. I explore some of the theories of how value can evolve in ecosystem of relationships and entities that may form, dissolve and reform in different ways. I explore ideas of value association and collective sharing of value and how these are shaped in dynamic digital ecosystems.
I see digital competition in the context of different supply and demand densities and value systems. These build on ideas I had seen in nodes and vertices associative analysis in SNO and I try to explore these in the way monetization strategies shaped by community and digital value creation consumed or created by these communities.
Key points
Digital Ecosystems create associative links that can be measured in value based systems (faster, better, cheaper)
Considering just triangular relations of mobile – big data – cloud and application services between these is a limited perspective on the wider permutations and potential combinations in digital ecosystems.
Most monetization strategies tend to look at micro economics: supply and demand operating model only and not the wider drivers of the ecosystem and system to system and Internet of things connections defined through macro economics.
I’ve identified 40 monetization strategies that look at micro economic and macro economic drivers for cloud ecosystem performance evaluation and planning.

I introduce the idea of triskelons of services value and how these are multi-dimensional.
