Speaker: Joe Fay, Group Editor, The Register http://www.theregister.co.uk/
In this session Joe will explore the interface between CIOs, and other senior tech managers, and the specialist media.
Joe Fay has been covering technology and business for over 20 years. He covered the dawn of client server computing and the internet revolution for magazines in the UK in the 1990s. Between 2000 and 2005 he was based in San Francisco, giving him a ringside seat for the dot com crash. He was editor of The Register, the biggest and best tech news website operating out of the UK, from 2005 to 2011. Since 2012, he has been group editor of The Register. http://www.theregister.co.uk/Author/45/

We will discuss the role of the technology and business media, how the trade press works/makes its money, why we do what we do, the challenges facing business/trade media, whether there is the possibility of an authentic voice for CIOs.
This will be an original and very interesting perspective for considering how digital and social media and marketing will impact the way IT leaders and companies need to think about digital channels and the considerations in working with media.
A fascinating highly relevant topic of our time ! don’t miss out on this key session!
