PA Consulting have been instrumental in launching a new International Working Group for Digital Business Strategy & Customer Experience. This joint work group of the Open Platform 3.0™ Forum and the Architecture Forum of The Open Group Standards Body, will develop and promote an understanding of what it means to be digital, and to establish best practices for organizations providing a digital customer experience.

“This is an important initiative to define and lead an important new Industry Customer centric model. It has a direct impact on how companies need to think digitally and the way business needs to move and operate successfully in the connected economy.”

Digital is changing the way customers, the workforce, partners and suppliers interact and deliver products and services Digital is a top board level priority in defining and responding to social media, data and mobility altering the what customers experience. Traditional inside-out strategy has evolved from business operating performance that is increasingly challenged by the need for outside-in thinking. This is the impact of customer relations, the wider ecosystems of markets and connected experience that define modern business today. This WG aims to explore these themes to help build out new guidelines and practices to encourage and support the digital business imperatives we see across industries.

The current activities are to develop a range of customer scenarios that will establish a basis for a new Industry Reference Model standard for Customer

Experience.

As part of the launch there is a free public webinar on Thursday, July 30, 2015 11:00 am Eastern Daylight Time (New York, GMT-04:00) “The Customer Experience Journey in Digital Disruptive Business Models” – The webinar includes presentations from Professor Mark Skilton of PA Consulting and Clive Curtis of Huawei Global Services, and a discussion, moderated by Open Group Director of Interoperability Chris Harding in which Mark and Clive will answer questions from the audience.

It will look at customer experience journeys from a business perspective, explore how digitally empowered customers can have more control, and consider how the customer journey relates to the business organization. Attendees will gain an understanding of how to: • Develop better products and services, and • Architect more effective systems.
